Coach Tim saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself. Since we started working together, he’s helped me grow not just as a player, but as a person. My performance has taken a leap, and the way I see the game has completely evolved.

He played a huge role in helping me secure my first overseas contract in Malaysia, which is something I’ll forever be grateful for. He also invited me to assist him at a camp in Ukraine, giving me the chance to pour into others the way he poured into me.

But what means the most is that Tim’s impact went far beyond basketball. He  was the reason I started going back to church, and eventually got baptized. That shift changed my life in ways I can’t fully explain.

He’s more than a just a trainer to me, he’s a mentor, a brother in faith, 

someone who truly believed in me every step of the way, and best of all.. it’s like I gained a comical uncle who l continue to look up to.. And as serious as he is about the game, his sense of humor always keeps things light. He will have you laughing even in the middle of a tough workout. But don’t get it twisted. This man will be on you like white on rice.. but the love is ALWAYS felt.

Tim's basketball knowledge and understanding of the game is off the charts.  He's honest, trustworthy and has the utmost amount of integrity. His combination of maturity, communication skills and ability to motivate makes him one of the best coaches/trainers in the game today.

Cameron Vaughn

In 2013 was an NJCAA All-American, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference's "Player of the Year," a NJCAA Region XII 1st Team selection and Cincinnati State's "Female Athlete of the Year." Vaughn also performed in the classroom earning a 3.0+ GPA and named as a Cincinnati State "Scholar Student-Athlete."

Coach Tim "Headache" Gittens has had an incredible influence on our kids (middle school and high school).  

Their level of play and skills improved tremendously under the instruction and guidance of Coach Tim. They are stronger and more confident on and off the court.  Coach Tim instills the values of HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, RESILIENCE and ACCOUNTABILITY. 

We are grateful for the lessons learned and time spent with Coach Tim and Headache 13.

Many individuals are capable of performing tasks, however Mr. Gittens often pursued additional opportunities to further the goals and objectives of our program. He displayed effective leadership and management skills.  He pushed student-athletes from challenging backgrounds to exceed their own expectations and was a key contributor to their development on and off the court.   Mr. Gittens was always able to manage his time effectively, and communicate with program directors, sponsors, workers, volunteers and parents, as well as maintain a creative, entrepreneurial spirit that delivered new ideas and tactics. … When training a team or a group of players he has the ability to motivate and push the athlete to the next level. He applies his knowledge, skill and experience in making necessary adjustments both at practice and in games… Most coaches can run a “good” practice but a great coach can help a team perform above their skill level. Tim truly has this quality as he takes each player and directs them to develop their skill by focusing on their individual strength but brings them together to form a strong unit.

My son Noah has been working out with Coach Gittens and his basketball program Headache 13 since last summer before he started high school as a freshman.

Coach Gittens helped my son develop into a better basketball player, that my son not only was ready for high school tryouts, but he also made the JV squad. I can honestly say that, being around different coaches and trainers since my son started training in basketball from the time he was six years old, I've personally witnessed coaches and trainers here in the state of Florida that do not have the credentials that Coach Gittens has. As a player, Coach Gittens played at the collegiate level as well as at the pro level. His resume speaks for itself and as a coach he coached not only the high school level, college and the WNBA level. My son continues working out with Coach Gittens and his Headache 13 program, because his intentions are to keep getting better and to grow as not only as a player but as an individual. Coach Gittens is a true professional on and off the court who is highly respected in the basketball community. 

I want to extend my gratitude and experience with Headache 13. My son started as a freshman with you and I have seen tremendous growth and accountability with him and his game from attending the Headache 13 Camps. I always say its bigger than basketball and what he has learned will stick with him forever on and off the court. The saying is it takes a village to raise kids is so true. Between Yourself & Coach Rob the program has help raise some extraordinary young men. I, as a parent, thank God for your leadership, professionalism, and dedication to our boys. "Headache-BEST COACH EVER"

 Coach Tim is the best Coach/Trainer I have ever had. He taught me not only how to attack the game to get better, but how to see the game and how to break it down. He let me see another level to the game that I never thought I needed. Coach Tim is the reason I am able to keep playing basketball at a high level, and he taught me how to improve my game with or without him around. Coach Tim taught me how to become a great basketball player, and I will forever be grateful. 

Mr. Gittens demonstrated professionalism, dedication and a thirst for growth on every spectrum. Mr. Gittens demonstrated incredible zealous in working with some of the school's most challenging students. Through that development, Mr. Gittens began a Boys Club. This club was an opportunity for young adolescent males to come, learn and voice their concerns. 

As a result, the suspension rate was decreased by 12%...

 Just because you’ve played the game, doesn’t mean you can coach. Tim Gittens uniquely uses his years of high level playing experience to teach this game in the way it was meant to be coached. He’s passionate, detail oriented and has an ability to connect with all energies alike. His proficiency as a coach does not begin to describe his character as a person.
